Absolutely breathtaking event venue. Staff was friendly and helpful. While it was outdoor, it was still comfortable. Reasonably priced for tickets, good, drinks, even alcohol. 10/10 will go again.

This review is for Sand Mountain Amphitheater only, not the actual show (which was great BTW). EVENT: We went to a 311 Unity Tour concert (with Neon Trees and AWOLNATION) at Sand Mountain Amphitheater on Sep 15th. I have to say that I was very impressed with the venue as a first-time visitor. The city of Albertville has obviously put a significant investment into the whole Sand Mountain complex and I hope that it pays off for them. PARKING / ENTRY: From our perspective, everything seemed to be well-run and organized. We arrived fairly early and parking was not an issue for us. Getting into the venue was straight-forward, but be aware that SMA has a "no leave & return" policy. I get the reasons why, but it would have been nice to be able to drop purchased event / band merch off in the car so I would not have to tote it around all night. CONCESSIONS: Concession stand had a number of options that were priced a little high, but not outrageously so. I can not comment on the quality of concession stand food because we did not purchase any. However, there were a few food trucks on-site inside the venue and we hit up Lena's Rolling Kitchen (URL: https://lenas-rolling-kitchen.square.site/) for some chicken nachos and they were very good. We recommend checking them out. There also were a number of places set up to purchase adult beverages ranging from beer to mixed drinks. SEATING / VIEWING: It appeared that almost all seats and locations have a good view of the stage. Ours did, anyway. I'll see if I can upload some pics or vids later. VENUE DEPARTURE: After the show, exiting was not really an issue despite the crowd, nor was driving away that onerous. CONCLUSION: This was our first visit to Sand Mountain Amphitheater. We were impressed enough by the experience that we are definitely interested in returning for other concerts.

Negatives: I can not believe with how new this facility is - that they do not have a water bottle refill station!! Even public schools and airports have these water fountains. Very annoying to have to purchase a $5 bottle of water in Alabama's hot and humid summers. The amount of belligerent drunk adults was off the charts, there is no way they are diligently monitoring and cutting people off. I saw a woman fall down the walkway ramp drunk and also witnessed a woman who threw up on herself and passed out in the bathroom be carried out by medical personnel. There were a lot of kids present at this event and I imagine other events as well with the small town vibes. Parents were letting children stand on the chairs throughout the whole show blocking everyone behind them. We had four kids standing on chairs in front of us the whole show. Security / venue staff were not observing closely enough to stop this poor parental behavior - disappointing. It is a little difficult to navigate to your seat. Positives: I arrived after the show had already started but security check and ticket scan was easy and fast. Overall the venue seems to have a great view no matter where you sit.
