Played Palmer private today. Great conditions overall, a couple of greens had grass in rough shape but still rolled fine. Very nice course and a another great golf spot in the valley.

I will start the review with, this course is great. However, it is not as great as I expected it to be. The course is challenging, however it is not as hard as I thought it would/ should be. There is almost no punishment for hitting wildly inaccurate drives since there is no existence of rough. I was suggested to play from not the tips but one set forward, I found myself hitting wedges into every single green from that length, which is not what a hard course should present. I thought the greens were slow, but firm. Almost all putts would end up short when you are expecting a tournament course to be slick. There was a ton of bare spots throughout the course, which is weird as we approach a PGA event at this venue. If I was a golf digest rater, I certainly wouldn't have the course in the top 60. I have played over a dozen top 100 public courses, and this course is probably one of the weakest presentations I have seen. Its worth playing I suppose, but I would not say its a must see, and I likely would not come back again.

This review is dated for November 7th 2020 for the Arnold palmer Private golf course at pga west. There is a reason why pga west sought out by avid golfers from around the country and the private courses are so fun to play. The palmer course has many holes that bend and turn around lakes of water, palm trees are scattered throughout the course making it Feel like a true desert course experience. Not a lot of elevation changes but on the back 9 the layout is spectacular and some scenic par 3s that really highlight the design. Also, there are big horn rams running around in packs...that alone is worth the experience. I hope to retire here one day and play my days out.

I visited the La Quinta PGA West course for the CareerBuilder tournament. The course is very well kept and a fantastic place to watch some professional golf. The staff workers at the pro shop were very nice and helpful when my girlfriend was looking for a new pair of golf shoes.

We have had a family second home here for 23 years. It is one of the nicest Clubs around. We love to go find the Big Horn Sheep and throw them apple pieces.
