Ed R. Levin County Park is a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area. Whether you’re looking to unwind by strolling along the peaceful pond, trying your hand at fishing, or enjoying a quiet hike, this park has something for everyone. It’s also an ideal spot for a picnic with family or friends. One of the things I love most about the park is how relaxing it feels—perfect for birdwatching or even getting some quiet work done outdoors. The abundance of birds and the calm atmosphere make it a great retreat. Just a heads-up: parking is paid, but it’s well worth the experience. If you’re looking for a place to recharge and connect with nature, Ed R. Levin County Park is highly recommended!

My first visit was in 2018 and second visit in 2024. I love the vast area around the lake, the friendly Ducks and Squirrels. The best to enjoy with family carrying snacks. Of course I did not make use of rest room. The leading road to park is well with trees and I love it.

Such a lovely place, not too crowded, great place for dogs to walk around, has an off leash area too for big and small dogs. Bring a nice snack for picnic and enjoy.

No cell service inside park (due to remote location) Beautiful dog park though! Great water fountain and separate sides for large/small dogs. Can be muddy at lower end of hillside so bring a towel for paws.

Amazing country park. The parking fee is $6 but the bathrooms are cleaned constantly and there are rangers around in case anything unfortunate happens. They have a hang gliding area which is a fenced in part of the park but you get to see hang gliders float to wherever they please. You can also obviously expect gusty winds especially as you climb to greater heights at all times, seeing as how the east bay hill traps the wind that blows over the unique terrain. I think the best time to go is during the winter to April when the hills are still green and you can see layers and layers of yellow wildflowers. But otherwise it is still pretty and you can see two small reservoirs surrounded by perpetually green grass. There are many trails and I have even seen cars near the top of the hills; not sure how they got there. There is a dog park and the lovely Sandy Wool Lake. There are two parking lots and the one by the lake is usually more squished. People also go fishing at the lake.
