Fun course. A bit rough around the edges but the layout and greens are good. Pro shop lady was courteous and friendly. Main problem was the heavy set cart guy. Was making up issues to call people out on and grumbling so that you could plainly hear how he thinks everyone are idiots except him. He was doing this with everybody over everything. Guy needs to go. You must be losing customers just because of his behavior..

Staff are great, food is fine for golf, 3 9s are good but the quality of some of the greens in particular are really really poor. Some tee boxes are set to where you couldn’t swing or stand up right. Carts are basic.

I was just caddy for my father in law. He played with his friends on the Oaks and The lakes courses. The oaks were in fair shape. Greens were punched but good shape. Lakes was in better shape. The fairways looked cut too short. Greens were in good condition.

The course is quick and is good to get a quick round in, however I every time I play there I get upset at myself for paying the fee. The course is not worth what they are charging, especially when you have monarch and cypress right down the street. Monarch ($65 after 1) cypress ( almost the same price within a couple $$). Black lake has potential but lacks grass and proper greens keeping. Also on busier days the lakes side often feels like open season with almost all the fairways running parallel to each other, gotta keep your head on a swivel. The fairways are also littered with gofer holes and are mostly densely back dirt, it often remind me of practicing my wedges in my back yard growing up. The course had a lot of potential however even the most basic grounds keeping and maintenance is being neglected. Spend the money elsewhere, go to cypress or catch monarch doing a happy hour

We love this golf course! 27 hole course, three 9 hole options. Two of the courses are more rough and woodsy, and one is more manicured and green. A challenge on all 3. They offer a first tee program and they also participate in the PGA JR program. The golf shop has what you need when you forget something, and the bar and grill is fabulous. The people are helpful and friendly. They just upgraded some of their carts and there’s always plenty stocked. The driving range has a wide area and there is a good sized putting area, with a secondary putting and chipping area behind the clubhouse. There are live bands and events on the weekends sometimes and great specials at the grill during the week days. A really great place that we truly love!
