I highly recommend Ellings Park to anyone around the Santa Barbara area! I’ve had the pleasure of attending the Fields of Funk Music Festival twice at Ellings Park, and both years were fantastic! The outdoor stage setup is perfect for a music festival, creating an awesome atmosphere surrounded by nature. The park itself is incredible, with scenic hiking trails that lead up and around the mountain. On a clear day, you can spot the Channel Islands across the Pacific, including Santa Cruz Island to the south and Santa Barbara nestled to the north. There are sandstone formations, palm trees, and stunning homes built into the hills. You’ll likely encounter a steady flow of hikers, bikers, and even paragliders, which adds to the park's lively vibe. All around great vibes.

A massive park with incredible hiking and recreation options. Costs money to enter on weekends (and was told cash only). Epic views on top of mountains overlooking the ocean and the whole city. A sight worth seeing.

This place really does have something for almost everyone. The fields are kept in pristine condition for which seems to be year round. There are RC car race tracks as well as "air-space" with a runway/ landing for the RC pilots. There are several downhill mountain biking trails and hiking or dog walking trails for those on the mellower pace. Did I mention the paragliding lessons that you can also receive from 2 different schools here as well? I went with Fly Above All Paragliding , but Eagle is the other one. The views are pretty remarkable as well. Especially from the air!

Great for Picknicks. Walks. Events. Softball fields and disk golf course. Memorial walk is great. Dog friendly for members and lots of stations. Wish the upper bathrooms would be open through the week and not just for events.

The best view of Santa Barbara, well one of them. Only at times, I had to climb a fence but it was an easy one to climb and dogs have to be a "member'to walk there. That's the only thing I I don't like about it. But its perfect for me. A couple benches scattered around to sit at to watch both sunset and sunrise. This is no the side with the baseball fields. You can access this from that same driveway and walk up the trails to this spot but I didn't even know that it was part of Elings until I got there and saw the sign. I entered from the neighborhood gates. Right now they are open from 7-7:30 but you can squeeze through the gate or hop the fence go be honest. It's so Beautiful the gates should never be shut. A disappointing aspect as it's my understanding that your dog has to be a "member" of the park or you get fined. Lame if you ask me!! Total downfall. But worth the visit for the view.
