The greens and fairways are MUCH improved since last year. Golf carts needs steering maintenance and signage is poor, only a few holes have the hole number marked.

Didn’t go there to play golf. I went for the cherry blossoms and they did not disappoint. They were spectacular. I recommend it for next year and the years after. This year the blossoms peaked march 23 and 24 th. Great picture taking opportunities. Wear comfortable shoes.

In the middle of the Capital area,.not a bad place. On a Tuesday, it was steadily busy up past 7pm. Double decker driving range and multiple practice putting greens. This 18-hole course wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Being in mid-April in VA, it still wasn't up to a lush summertime presentation yet. The greens had been airaited within a week or so, making them a bit bumpy. I had a couple approach shots landing just short of the green that took crazy bounces due to the grass there being inconsistent and sometimes being non-existent. Tee boxes have seen better days. They were chewed up, leaving hardly any grass along with a difficult time finding a level surface. A mostly straight course and all flat, with a few trees in your way. Multiple services are available to do work on your cluds, as well as a loaded clubhouse with a restaurant that was built about 100 years ago. Overall, it's a place I'd come back to.

The 40+ year-old range balls need to go. Just spend the money. No point in paying $20 for the range if half the balls fly like a knuckleball and scratch face of irons. Plus, all the rubber tees are either 2" or 4" (too short or too long for a driver). Bunkers need real sand! Not this pebble-sand stuff that screws up wedge grooves. Red and White courses are good for beginners, but the pace of play on the blue course really needs help. Grass on red course somehow better than white course. Place is packed even on weekdays after about 1pm, if the weather is decent. That's not a complaint. Drainage is a serious issue, but they know that. Greens are often quite slow. It would be great to get a small chipping area, but that's probably some litigation issue.

The only possible complaint about this place is the range and courses are not in great shape, BUT you won't get better value anywhere in the area. The 18-hole course and two (2!) nine-hole courses are very forgiving, so your buddy with a 50 handicap will still have a fun time. Wide fairways, good angles from the rough, greens aren't Augusta National levels of difficulty (partially due to maintenance). Despite the relative ease, the holes are well-designed with a beautiful view of the Washington Monument and Potomac River(s) throughout because the place was built in 1924 while golf was still a fun game. Best part of East Potomac is the value for your money. The Blue (18-hole) course is only $40 to walk on the weekends, less than $20 extra for a cart. The White (executive 9-hole) is only $24 and the Red (par-3) just $19. The Red Course is only $15 to walk during the week, and is a hidden gem of a short par-3 course. The snack bar is well-stocked with food & drink plus alcohol at a reasonable price. Can't say enough about East Potomac. I hope they don't hire a world-class Greenskeeper because they'd be able to charge $75 for one person like other courses in the area. Seriously, just golf here and don't worry about another course unless your uncle has a private club membership or something. BONUS: The sun rises over the District in the morning, and sets over Virginia at dusk. Doesn't get much better than that.
