Love this course, it flows beautifully and cleverly challenging. The park areas are used very well and a joy to walk around. There is a basket just to practice putting and when the baseball field is empty I like to practice throwing on hole 10... So great to have a place to Disc Golf in NYC!!!

Highland Park and its new Disc Golf Course have been one of my favorite places since I moved to NYC. I met some of my closest friends at the park through the New York City Disc Golf Association, and when talks of the course getting installed were floating about, we scheduled monthly trash pick ups and educational community days to create opportunities for the surrounding area to learn about the sport. Having disc golf in Highland Park creates a new avenue for the community to connect. As a regular at the course I can’t recommend playing here enough. The holes are thoughtfully designed to take into consideration the safety of pedestrians and are a reasonable length for beginners and children. If you are interested in playing reach out to the NYCDGA and we will provide instructional materials. If you play make sure to only throw when the holes are clear of people or players. If anyone is in the field of play skip the hole and return later. The small size of the course makes this convenient.

Today(Monday) was the first time at the course. I was sketched out by people walking and laying on blankets around the holes. It ended up being better during the second round because we had a better idea where everything was. Overall had a good time and talked to a few people that seemed generally interested in learning the sport.

What a tremendous gift. As a native New Yorker I am delighted to see this free, fun activity offered to the largest city in the US, one of the few that did not have a course. The replay value is great since the design is strong, so beginners find it approachable and veterans find it a challenge to be consistent enough to deliver a great score. Also, the folks who built it do a tremendous amount of work to engage the community, to clean up trash in the park, to give away discs to locals and schools and teach people so they can also use the facilities. Also, what a delight to not have to drive to NJ every weekend I want to play!

I played at Highland Park Disc Golf Course this morning, and it’s great to finally see a course in NYC! The park is large and impressive, and they did a good job fitting the 10 baskets in and around other park activities. The baskets are in great shape, and the course features some nice elevation changes and play around trees, which adds to the challenge. One downside is that Basket 10, which has the longest drive on the course, isn’t playable if there’s a baseball game going on, which is a bit of a letdown. Most of the baskets range from 180 to 230 feet, making it a great course for all skill levels. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely play here again!
