Half hour before sunset, temperature teetering towardas freezing and solo aren't ideal conditions to play this narrow nine holes. Yet I still enjoyed the NSCTDGC. The sculptures didn't whelm. The double chair was...flavorful. It's metal. Pretty rusted nowadays. My napsack rests on the damp grass, the bench sculpture unusable in any practical sense. Most of the art looks amateurish. If any ever inspired; the time's long past. Makes the course feel ramshackle. The sculptures should make like a tree. I like the idea of somebody trying to incorporate one of the sculptures into the hole. You COULD thread the rusty needle on the sixish hole. But why?

This place is close to my house, and as such, I think it's great. In the grand scheme of disc golf courses, it isn't actually that great. It's a very short 9 holes laid out in a straight line. Every hole is bordered on the right by McCormick, on the left by the river (more accurately the dense brush that abuts the river). So it's not the prettiest, quietest, or best smelling course ever made. The course runs along a pedestrian and bike path, so there is a very real chance that you'll hit someone even if you manage not to throw wide and hit a speeding car. A couple holes are almost comically short, one is longer, the rest are reasonably short. There isn't much in the way of hazards on the course itself, but a few of the holes are tucked behind little copses of trees. Also, on several holes the sculptures become hazards, which is a fun bonus for this course. Because it's linear and short it's pretty easy to navigate from one hole to the next. All in all, it's a mediocre disc golf course with an A+ location for a Northsider like me.

It's not that bad of a course. Small, but can test you on some shots because of the trees. The bad can be pretty bad if you're not careful. The course follows and sometimes crosses the bike path and if your disc gets away from you then you're screwed on the left with dense rough and a busy road on your right. That being said if you keep your shots tight then it's really not a bad course. Especially since a small close course is better than no course. Quick enough to play on my lunch so I'm happy.

I play a lot in the suburbs but live in the city, its a fun family friendly course. I would say all putters and midrange except one or 2 holes you will need a fairway or distance driver. I just wish there were more courses in the city area, with how many parks are around there are plenty of places to put a few more courses @cityofchicago.

This place is not operational and under construction for a while. At least 3 months more, could be much longer.
