Beautiful grounds and structures. Picnic, restrooms, shelters to rent or use. Family gatherings, a nice drive thru park. Sit and eat lunch or visit . Peaceful and VERY well kept grounds!! Family reunions, birthday parties, celebration of life, and all sorts of gatherings. Nice big playground for kids. Dog friendly.

Illinois and its parks never cease to amaze me. I guess because I have these preconceived notions due to its urban areas of Chicago. But as soon as you get away from Chicago, there is so much incredible natural beauty and this park is part of that. Close to I 80. It’s a nice shaded oasis on a hot summer day like today. Conversely, it also has some really large open spaces. Just gorgeous.
