Not going to lie here, this course started out meh but then morphed into a challenging and fun course. Playing the Golds, I described it as a Heritage Trails that slowly transitioned into a Northwoods Black. The first few holes start out in an open prairie, tall grass with mowed fairways. Wind playing a big factor on the beginning holes. Hole three being a bomber fairway for most people. Hole 4 then began the transition as it began to get wooded. The tall grass must be a nightmare in the summer because even in the fall as the grass is dying and thinning for the season, I almost lost a second shot disc. This brings me to the point, this may not be a very beginner friendly course. Keeping your disc on the fairways, albeit in the open field holes or wooded holes, can be the difference of losing a disc or taking unwanted strokes. At first, I could not see how that course was in the top 100 course but I should have waited till the end to make that determination. I look forward to returning here and the few other course in the area that I enjoyed visiting this day. This course is roughly a 75 minute drive for me but I do plan to return to play again. What to expect from start to finish: There is a course map at the beginning of the course for those without Udisc. There are also plenty of signs directing players however if you do not realize that the White layout and Gold layout split off from each other as you get to hole 10, it could be confusing. Gold holes 10-14 do not share fairways with the White layout for the same holes unlike the majority course before and after those holes. Depending on which layout you play, keep in mind, the layout change, when taking the walking path from hole 9 to 10. There are walking/biking trails that do come into play from time to time and I did have to pause play on a few occasions. Although I was there in the later afternoon of a weekday, it was not busy and I didn’t have to wait on anyone ahead of me. I imagine this course is much busier in the summer and/or weekends. Port-a-Potties are at the parking lot. There is also a lost and found disc drop box at the beginning of the course. Tees are concrete and signs are extremely basic with hole #, distance and par. Signs did not show a line to the basket or throw direction. It is on the player to go visually look for the basket prior to throwing and on some of the longer fairways, it could be a long walk before seeing the basket. There is also minor elevation on some of the holes. Baskets were a little beat up but overall in good shape. Some basket had tall flag poles and flags on top giving a good indication of pin location and wind reads at the basket. There are also some odd out-of-bound areas too. It is possible these areas get filled in with water during the wet season but these areas were dry even the day after a heavy rain fall when I visited. There were at least two holes that had actaul water hazards that came into play. The course is cart friendly. By myself, it took roughly 90 minutes to play the Gold layout. I wish this course was within an hour for me as I could see myself playing here more often.

Beautiful course, well maintained, nice concrete tee pads, well marked, always know where your next tee is. Easier level course and a more difficult course differentiated by color. Even had a dead drop lost and found box for found discs. Had a great time

Lengthy course with many benches, multiple tee pads/baskets per hole to adjust difficulty, different terrain, portable toilets, and plenty of parking. There are a couple holes with water so bring a retriever stick. If travelling from the Chicago burbs and going north on Fairfield, it's best to drive 100 feet past the entrance and pull a U-turn as there is no left turn lane into the course entrance.

Love this Park! It's beautiful and the elevation is really nice! Most of the shots on the white course are really fun, some more challenging then others. (That par 5 is killer!) I haven't been brave enough to attempt the gold course yet, it seems very challenging.
