I live about an hour south of here. My oldest son had some stuff to do that was going to take a few hours. I’m a single mom of 3 and my youngest 2 are 2 1/2 and 4yrs old. I wanted to do something they would enjoy doing so I looked up parks and this was a few down on the list but I liked the name of it. The zip line is the longest I have ever seen at a park. The lake is beautiful. Even though the playground is a little small, my kids loved it. I enjoyed the peacefulness of this park. It’s in the middle of Merrillville and you feel like you’re in the country! I highly recommend this park.

Not just a great place for July 4th as that's somewhere to celebrate that I've known it for. Its also a great outdoor area to take a walk or jog. The Marines were using this space to practice too.

Perfect name for this park, Hidden Lake Park, it really is nestled in the middle of Merrillville. We came for the first time, midweek, early afternoon, it wasn't busy. Nice little park. The Zipline at the play area was awesome but was surprised there was just one track. We waited for the two kids already on there for who know how long to be done, they walked away and my kids tried it. I wish there were two tracks to the Zipline, but still fun to try if everyone cooperates and takes proper turns.
