It's on a flood plain next to the Iowa River. Lots of course maintenance challenges, I've been volunteering here since 2012. Lots of poison ivy and nettles during spring and summer. 2 pin locations and 2 tees for each hole. Heavily wooded, lots of little trees on the fairways. Forest floor is mostly clean on wide fairways. Needs more trashcans. Benches were installed too close to the teepads to actually be used for sitting. Signage could be better. Secluded. Great lines. Good mix of layout, slightly lefty friendly. Several par 4's depending on layout. 1 practice basket (the other was stolen). Water on site at dog park. Port-o-Johns as well.

The course was partially flooded but that's due to the weather and landscape. It's laid out well and the closest course to Iowa city (also right next to a dog park so you can watch cute puppies playing as you go into the course). Most of the holes are in a wooded area, and practicing around trees is fun and an added difficulty

Be on the lookout while at this park. I returned from disc golfing to find our vehicle broken into and personal belongs stolen. This happened in broad daylight.

It's nicer than most because it has a practice basket at the start and two tee boxes and two baskets locations per hole. However, several holes on the course are pretty muddy for months at a time, and walking through it isn't fun. There are also holes where all they did was mow the grass but never took the trees out when they developed the course out of the forrest. It's nice to have a tree or two on the fairway as an obstacle, not 40.

A difficult course that takes a lot of finesse and patience. A ton of trees makes for a good challenge. A handful of holes have river views with pelicans to see.
