Recommend if you are looking for a short weekend getaway. Beautiful state park. Pretty quiet. Clean water lake with beach area and sheds. Family friendly. The park offers also large party center with lake view. Trails to walk. We visited this park on September 2024. We seen more new sheds are on the way to be built on the beach. There is entrance fee per person.

We stayed here three nights Nov 2024. Base rate is $33 for water/elec, we were in loop 1. Louisiana does offer a over 62 or America the Beautiful senior discount is 50% off. Beautiful park, lots of rolling hills. Modern bathrooms with a laundry room. The lake is pretty clear. Huge swimming beach with shaded tables. There are two disc golf courses, supposedly in the top 100 in the world. There are cabins to rent. Great T-Mobile service.

It's a shame we only had time for a pit stop, en route to TX; what a beautiful, peaceful setting. RV spots close to the lake, what an incredible view to wake up to. A warm welcome was extended to me by the sweetest lady, Michelle, when I checked out this morning. Looking forward to another visit on the return leg of our drive.

What a beautiful park & a large, gorgeous lake! We only stayed 1 night because we were on our way home from Arkansas. Our camping site #50 was level & we had a nice view through the trees to the lake. I was very pleased to find clothes washers & dryers at the bath house. Also, the showers were clean and there was plenty of hot water!!!

Great place to visit if you are in the area. Well worth the price of admission for the day or weekend. Wildlife was abundant yet I was surprised by the lack of mosquitoes. Not sure if that is normal or I came at the right time of year. Early August. I will definitely stay here again if I’m in the area. Bringing a fishing pole and my mountain bike next time.
