Wife and I decided to drive down and give this place a try. Glad we did! Place has a driving range and 2 nine hole tracks (one a par 3 course and the other a regulation length course). Course is not up to the standards of some of the finer courses, but ... The guy working in the "shop" was super friendly. Cart was clean and working well. Course was in great shape ... all of it ... tee boxes, fairways, greens. We really enjoyed our round! Just wish we lived closer, but we definitely will return to play there again.

Great local spot to get in some quick rounds or hit the range. So nice to have something like this nearby! It’s not PGA quality, but it’s well taken care of and casual.

The course has really turned things around. I've always found all the staff to be very friendly here, but in the past the course was just not in good shape. Well they hired a new greenskeeper and the difference in half a year is really incredible. The greens are all in great shape now. The fairways have gone from pretty bad to better than most courses I've played. Even the areas between the holes are better kept. The tee boxes are 1000% improved. Lots of little touches like the signs are a welcome improvement as well. Just in excellent condition now. I'm really blown away at the improvement. There was some really gnarly stuff at the bottom of the #6 green that just made it unpleasant to be there and they made an effort to clean that up. The bridges are in good shape again. It's now pretty much better than any public course I've played in the last few years. Well done! Things they could do to get that last star would be to smooth out some areas where you drive your cart that are a bit bone shaking. There were signs that they were working on that. They could add a hot dog machine in the club shack (I'm working up a hunger out here guys) and get the refrigerator fixed. Get the sand/seed bottles filled on the carts so we can help you take care of the course. I wouldn't mind being able to buy a beer or two either. Overall things are looking up at Mellomar and it's in beautiful shape. Edit: That didn't last very long. The conditions were good for one season. The place is in just awful shape now. There is a sign on the door saying there are 2 temporary greens, then you get out there and it's more like 6 temporary greens. It's just not playable.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE MINI GOLF. It's very run down, not maintained, and you have to sweep the tree branches and sand and nut shells out before you play each hole. Very LAME. And yet they charge $7 per person. That terrible mini golf course should ONLY be FREE.

Showed up today with 8 people to play. The young guy was very mean and insulting. We have been supporting melomar for years even though the greens are horrible. We have wanted to support a local and small business. After the way we were treated today I seriously doubt we will be back. We all decided to drive a half hour south to Chesapeake hills golf course to play. Melomar wants a whopping $31.00 to play 9 holes on a bad course and we paid $32.00 for 18 holes on a great course. I’ve never minded paying at melomar before but after this morning I will not be back. Keep in mind that I have never posted a negative review on any site but this morning took the cake. We kept coming back even after the Mrs owner was rude to one of our players a month ago after jokingly commenting about the price. She nastily told him to play somewhere else . The only very nice people there are the owner , Doc, and the young lady that works there. It may be time to sell the the builders Doc and I am very sorry for the bad review but your employee this morning was way to rude and ruined it for us. Goodly luck
