18 holes, plus putting green. Brilliant redesign of older 9 hole course. technical, challenging both backhand and forehand. hole distances are 148" to 364". leasurely course for intermediate players. beginners are welcome. winds on 3, 10, and 12 are generally consistent and very readable. 3 is up the teepad hill, and up again at the bottom, behind the pin. 10 the wind most often comes from pin toward teepad. careful with angled shots. hole 12 has a crosswind against the tee shot. loves pushing discs over fence and on top of deserted building. the remaining holes are in places a bit crowded against each other, but fun. park has large playground, party pavilion, and plenty of parking most days.

Highland park DGC is the best 18 hole beginner course in the metro. Maintenance isn't always the best, but for the price of free it's not too bad. Intermediate players can have fun birdie hunting here too, shooting for the glorious -18 round (totally possible). Advanced players may want to hit up kaposia or acorn or the valley for more challenge but highland always provides some fun - fast round, decent layout, generally friendly folks, can't go wrong.

Overall this is a nice course, but I wasn't impressed at any point. It'd be a good place to take your kids or your parents if they want to try disc golfing. 15 of the holes are open fields with minimal tree obstructions. Holes 3-5 are in the woods and losing a disc in the underbrush is possible. There are shaded benches at almost every tee. Most tees have a small placard showing where to look for the basket. Many of the holes run parallel to each other. Some of the baskets are unnumbered, so without the udisc app i may not have known which one to throw at in some of the open fields shots. My only real qualm with this course is that several of the tees are directly in the path of other holes, so I personally would not play here on a busy day.

This is a very family-friendly course, which is great if you're a family, but not so great if you are an experienced thrower who just wants to blast through a round at 3 pm. Come early, beat the crowds, great course! They changed the tee layout on 14 and 15, to the better.

It can be crowded. It's environment isn't for everyone, obviously. The disc golf seems popular next to the large playground area for kids. Although there is not a lot of diversity in this neighborhood. The bridge overlooking the changing fall colors is the biggest attribute and worth the wait for pedestrians to cross for photos.
