Someone said there isn’t hiking in Jackson! They’re probably right. We did enjoy a great deal of walking and observing. There is a nominal fee and pretty flat trails. Unfortunately, I did not have an opportunity to check out the museum (we took an alternate entrance) but it was still an enjoyable time outdoors.

It's always nice here. Whether you stay for one night or several it's always peaceful here. But just like any old campground it still needs some work but they've been keeping up with some of it what they can. I think the most important thing is that it's clean spacious and a bit of nature in the midst of a city.

We stayed several days at the campground mid-November. The area is pretty with plenty of trees and lakes. I saw turtles, a heron, an egret and lots of deer. The bathrooms are very well kept and clean. Showers are free, have good pressure, and hot water available. They have 1 washer and 1 dryer for 1.75 each. The dryer is an hour long, so it dries plenty, and we were able to run 2 wash cycles through 1 dryer cycle. Would definitely stay here again.

This is great place , it is located on 305 acres of Mississippi woodland. It is great for trail hikes in Jackson Mississippi. It has a a lot of big shady trees, big lake for fishing, play ground for children , lots of big gazebo canopy areas with picnic table s , and parking area for campers. Under the shady trees is always 10 degrees cooler than the normal Mississippi hot summer weather.

Friendly staff. Easy to back into sites. Level concrete pads. Beautiful views of the lake. I have yet to see the alligator 😩 but the bathrooms are clean and there are multiple woodpeckers around the site. Site 16 needs to be gravelled due to becoming a red mud hole in the rain.
