Referred to by our family as the tire swing playground, I can see folks visiting this park and finding it cute, quaint and perfect or... unimpressive, buggy and missing the mark. I think it depends on your attitude going in. The trails surrounding the park are more walking paths with geocaches connecting the disc golf course (not what I'd call a true hike) the kids love seeing the fish and turtles go after left over crumbs in the pond. The bathroom facility needs better lighting, but hey there's bathrooms (seasonally open) a blessing . The park rangers are good about visiting (it'd be rare that if we are there for a few hours they don't pull in) there have been a few times where we've noticed misguided teenagers, the smell of pot, shenanigans but nothing that overly would worry me from a safety issue.

First Responders Park is a cute little park with an open field of goal posts, playground equipment as well as a walk out dock to enjoy the fish turtles! We didn't notice this place was so close until I drove by it yesterday. It has some walking paths off the park, Frisbee golf, and public restrooms. The only thing I wish I had brought with me was fish food or some bread for the turtles! Today, there was a huge snapping turtle that kept making an appearance while the fish followed us along the dock. I'm looking forward to my next visit already!

A very wide open park with lots of parking. There is a nice playground for the kids, a pond with some fish but is also wheelchair accessible. The town should stock the pond and make it catch and release. There is a disk golf course and athletic fields. Lastly, there is a very large shelter and restrooms. Overall the park is very peaceful and at times you can observe deer and turkeys running around. For more information on this park, contact the town of Gates.

There are several sports fields in this park. No bleachers but traditional, full function restrooms. There's one open air shelter that can be reserved. If not reserved, it's available on a first come basis. Permanent installed charcoal grills conviently located outside nearby. Didn't see any electrical outlets available. The picnic tables were clean and in very good shape. Trash cans provided. There is a playground near the parking lot.
