This is a hidden gem! I love going here, there is never a crowd if you visit there during the week. The grounds are immaculately kept and the air is fresh. There is plenty of room and options for hikers, joggers, riders and walkers. The view from atop the dam is serene and awesome! There is a playground for the little people as well. The bathrooms are an insult. They wreak stale disgusting urine and you feel revolted by it. This should NEVER be what taxpayers have to tolerate or be forced to choose. This was the aspect that took away from the beautiful experience of a public space.

Kensico Dam is truly a hidden gem! I've visited this peaceful oasis a few times now, and each visit leaves me more impressed than the last. It's the perfect spot for a tranquil picnic, a game of catch, or simply enjoying a leisurely walk amidst nature's beauty. One of the highlights for me is the serene atmosphere. The park is remarkably quiet and offers plenty of shady spots thanks to the abundance of trees. The walking routes are well-maintained and offer picturesque views at every turn. And let's not forget about the breathtaking climb to the top of those stairs – while they may be steep, the stunning vistas from the summit make it all worth it. What's truly remarkable is the history behind the dam's construction, dating back to 1917. Learning about the incredible effort and engineering that went into its creation adds an extra layer of appreciation to the experience. In my opinion, Kensico Dam surpasses even Central Park in terms of tranquility and natural beauty. It's a true haven for anyone seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, history buff, or simply looking for a serene retreat, Kensico Dam is definitely worth a visit. I can't wait to return and explore more of its hidden treasures!

Peaceful place. Free parking at the Plaza. We can take the steps and go up to the top. My 5 years boy can reach the top as well. It's amazing. The big green grass fild is clean. We sit there and have a picnic. Enjoy the sun and the view. We go to the playground after the meal. My boy loves it. Not may kids are there. Parents can sit down and watch their kids.

My first time here! I had no clue there was a concert going on. From where I was, I could hear a band playing Billy Joel. Very nice. I'll be back for sure.
