Mary Jane Thurston State park is a peaceful little park on the Maumee River. We love it here, and the sites are spacious. There is a small playground down by the water sites. There is not a shower house, but there are port-a- potties. There is a shower house just a little down the road at the marina. There is where you will find the dump station, and potable water. You can walk the dike into the town of Grand Rapids. It's a cute little town. There is great fishing on the river! And an 18 hole disc golf course. Home to the apple butter festival!! The sunset on the river is phenomenal.

This is a fairly small state park, but still worth checking out. There are several nice trails, the storybook trail is geared for families as it has lots of signs with animal facts that are great for kids. The campground is a bit small, which is nice in that it prevents over-crowding. There are vending machines with drinks and the office has a store that sells snacks, drinks, and other items. One of the nicest features of this park is just how close it is to Grand Rapids, which is a cool town, and to Providence metro park. The hours on google maps are waaaaaaaaay off. Obviously they don't close at 4 pm, they close at 11 pm. I have no idea where they came up with that wonky time.

We enjoyed our visit to Mary Jane Thurston State Park. The park is located on the banks of the Muamee River just west of Grand Rapids Ohio. We stopped in the Visitors Center / Park office near the marina. The park manager was friendly and helpful. They offer kayak rentals and have boat docking available at the Marina with Restroom and shower facilities as well as a campground. The park is rather small compared to most but there are some trails and a park loop. We enjoyed a stroll through the Story Book Trail which children would love.

We really enjoyed camping here. Several spots are right on the water. This whole area is cool ,fun & unique. The showers are huge and single occupancy but the are only 2. They are at the marina bu there are pit toilets at camp. Easy to reserve online & no check in on arrival make it simple too.

Campsites were a little close and there weren't many trees in the tent area. Luckily nobody else was in the tent area, so there were no bad neighbors. Plenty waterfowl moving along the river, as well as carp. Overall pretty good for Ohio.
