This is a great course for beginners or those that just want to have a fun time without pushing their skill too much. There are two courses here the more beginner friendly is called Creek Side. The other course called Lake Side does have 2 holes that go above the lake a little. So I wanted people to know that before hand. They are currently working on the course getting rid of dead trees and clearing the brush around the trees. I would give it a 5 star but Lake Side has some litter around because there are almost no trash cans at that course while some holes at Creek Side have multiple trash cans per hole.

Great courses. Creekside is a wonderful beginner course with all par 3. However beware of Sunfays and other tournament times. Several club members feel it is okay to practice putting while you try and play your game and cop attitudes if you say anything to them. This has happened on several occasions now. Not how you draw new players or encourage interaction with the public. Would be a 5 if it wasn't for them.

The park needs massive renovation/upkeep- particularly in the disc golf area. There are weeds, stickers, trash in the more dense area, signs missing where the disc golf goal is, and even a homeless person with a tent RIGHT UNDER ONE OF THE GOALS! So for now that goal is unusable…

TRANSFORMATION. I heard about Denton Parks Foundation creating TWO 18-hole courses in the park and we finally decided to give it a try. It was not what I expected, at all. I was blown away at how different the “lakeside” course was from what we were used to playing in the past. Honestly, it’s really confusing the first time you go… but once you understand the layout, you’ll get excited about this “change of course.” Here’s a few tips for your first time visiting the North Lakes Park disc golf courses: ✨Hole 1 (for both courses) still tee off near the parking lot off Bonnie Brae, but in slightly different spots. ✨The red course goes by the lake. The blue course goes by the creek. ✨Not all tee areas are clearly marked or have hole number plaques yet. Look for red or blue poles with/without plaques to know where to tee off. Most holes of the red course have plaques, but the blue course isn’t fully complete yet. I think it’s all funded by sponsors of the Foundation. Get your business to sponsor a hole! ✨Some holes have a special offer — like getting a free beer at Lucky Lous bar when you take a selfie like this. And no I’m not telling you which hole! You gotta play the red course and find it for yourself. 😁 ✨Download the free trial of #UDisk to navigate the course, or I recommend just walking (not playing) the whole course your very first time. Plus, it’ll take you some time to understand how to read the plaques and know exactly where the holes/baskets are located. ✨The plaques show multiple dots on where the hole is located. This means they change up the hole location occasionally. My advice is to just aim towards that direction and 🙏 you see the basket before you have to throw it again. 😆 ✨Wear tennis shoes. There might be stickers in the grass, or lots of loose brush you might trek through. ✨Wear bug spray. ✨Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. It could take you a couple hours to complete a course, depending on your skills. 😅

Grass was super high super wet areas but kinda made it more of an adventure.
