Wrightsville Beach DGC

My earliest/fondest memories of Wrightsville Beach is family picnics with my great grandmother. One of the few places around that is perfect for the entire family, from the little kids with an abundance of energy to the great grandparents for a wheelchair bound. Perfect for all day family fun. grills, picnic tables shaded by trees. Sand beach, clean cool water. To the left of beach is mucky-muck perfect to find snails, frogs, crawfish and minnows. To the right, walking path alongside the water. Lots of places perfect for fishing. For a small fee rent kayaks or standing boards to take out on the water. They provide both adult and children size life jackets. Onset bathroom and changing area as well a water fountain out by the picnic area and a second one down by the beach.

For what it is, it was pretty nice! I went looking to check out the trails and there is a nice loop through the woods and by the reservoir. They aren't too extensive, but are well maintained and mowed. The beach is ok and they've made circles to keep people distant on the land. The water is warm and a good spot for a dip with a little one. This place is great for people not from the area to enjoy a beautiful spot to swim and relax. I definitely want to check out the disc golf course!

Beautiful spot, but a bit buggy in the evening. (Where isn't this time of year here?) Boat and kayak rental prices were reasonable and the disc golf course looks entertaining for an afternoon. I like how the beach area is split into a grassy and sandy spot!

This is the most fun course Ive been to yet, very approachable holes with a great selection of off the tee lines to choose from to get to basket. Absolutely loved every hole. Terrific course
