This is why five stars were invented. I drove three hours to get here and would drive at least three minutes more. First hole is a top of the world shot, so fun that for a brief moment, I forgot about all the war, famine, and influencers in the world. Course has several elevation shots, each hole unique, incredible scenery with the lake, mountains and not a CVS in site. The $10 fee to get into the park is more than worth it (not positive, but it might just be $10 per car, not person) plus the fee dilutes golfer traffic and keeps brat trash people away. It's insane that people won't think twice about dropping $8 on a Hoppenheimer IPA, but $10 for an amazing 18 hole course is out of the question? Good, more for me. First two pics are the first hole, 3rd is a ridiculous gap shot, last is one of the very picturesque holes that my finger decided to photo bomb.

This is a BEAUTIFUL location! I had read the other reviews here and definitely wanted to check it out while we were in Ventura. I only have a picture of the first tee because, sadly, my son and I are total novices! 😩 We were SUPER EXCITED to be there and did some practice throws in the parking lot. Maybe because of our excitement and the beauty around us, we overestimated our abilities... We both had pretty good throws with our drivers, but immediately lost them in the scrub bushes in the little valley between the tee and the hole. We spent about 30 minutes looking and gave up without finding them. Call it a learning fee, or maybe a gift to the disc golf gods... The nice guy at the entrance to Casitas Lake Recreation Area gave us a subtle warning. He asked if we'd played it before and said "it's really good but tough, I've lost a few discs there myself". 🤣

Great course. It is fairly challenging but not too bad. The grass gets tall in the spring so bring extra discs. You can play the front 9 or the back 9 from the parking lot. Concrete t pads. Baskets and chains are excellent. 10 dollar entry fee. 120 bucks a year for a season pass.

Still one of the best courses in Southern California.

It was a beautiful day for a Memorial service for my grandson. The breeze was light and the water in the lake sparkling. My family enjoyed our day.
