Nice easy trail with slight incline that leads to fire tower that has a great view if you climb the stairs to the top. Beautiful cliff views all along the trail. Tower is well maintained and safe. But be careful if you have children around the base of tower. Lots of broken glass from people throwing bottles from tower. Orenaug Rd. entrance is what we used, but has limited parking. Senior Center entrance off Rt. 6 has more parking, but not sure if hike is harder or easier from there.

Nice hike to the fire tower which you can walk up to get a nice 360 degree view. Further along the trail there is one more overlook. We hiked in a 3 mile loop. There is also disc frisbee one can play if hiking is not your thing

Beautiful place to hike and get a scenic view of Woodbury from the fire tower that stands at the peak of the trail. The Orenaug Fire Tower was built in 1911 and was the lookout for fires within the Pomperaug River Valley, it stands 260 feet above Woodbury’s Main Street and 520 feet above sea level. Orenaug is the native American Indian name for the trap rock cliffs.

Added 9 more holes since last year. Great short course I can compete on. Some steep up and down hills and lots of trees to hit. Good way to kill any hour or two
