Great well maintained course!!! Lots of water hazards... Not for the high handicappers. I suggest you leave your egos behind and play a tee forward than you usually do. You will thank me later for this advice!!! They also have good food at the 2nd Floor of the Club House. This place is Highly Recommended!!! Prices for Green and Food were well worth it.

It’s a fun and unique course that’s usually in pretty good shape considering the amount of play it gets and I’ve always enjoy playing the course in the past. However, management seems to view customers with disdain. We had a fourth cancel on us last minute due to an emergency. We were given no choice but to pay for his tee time, and given a rain check which is fine, but this policy seems extreme compared to other courses in the area. The employee was agreeable enough but kept stating that ‘his boss was watching’ which also makes me think that the employees might not be treated the best either. Furthermore, we were accosted by the woman working at the snack shop. We purchased several cold drinks at the turn and ask for a bag of ice (on a 85 degree day) which she refused to give us at first. After stating that we had a bag that we had been given from the clubhouse bar where we had first purchased a bag of beers, she relented and gave us ice. However, she then accused us of sneaking our own drinks onto the course, despite purchasing all of the previous drinks at the bar. There are plenty of other courses in the Chicago area that treat their customers with respect and decency to put up with poor attitudes at Lost Marsh.

This course is amazing! Layout is fabulous and it’s very well kept. If you’re able to place the ball then you can score here if you can’t, hope you know how to count well. Greens are in immaculate shape. I keep seeing peoples comments about the price but a course in this shape where I am from is $135+. Top notch public course. Oh yeah big deal that it’s in Hammond, evolve out of your bubble if that bothers you. Lastly, staff wasn’t just great, they were so fun! The starter had my girlfriend and I cracking up and was totally engaged in conversation. Lost marsh management- great job on the practices you use to run your establishment. It shows you guys care. Unfortunately, You will be seeing a whole lot of me!!

This is one of the best public courses I have ever played. It easily rivals most private courses. The clubhouse is incredible. Truly a hidden gem of NW Indiana.

The layout was exceptional, there was a few elevation changes which challenged the golfer who dares to step on the course. A few of the greens were in bad shape in a few spots, but they had a little speed to them. Also they were very soft and spongy. Some of the tee boxes had seen better days, but all in all I didn't go to the course to worry about the tee box. Number 1 started me off excited because after playing in Florida for the past few years, hitting down to a slight dogleg left fairway with water on either side running all the way to the green, left me ready for the rest of the course and the course only let up occasionally. You need to play the course to appreciate my words. Decent range, chipping and putting area, plus everyone was pleasant made for a fun day of golf. Yep I shall return.
