We love camping here, I believe this is our fourth time, for the closeness to home and lake beauty. We love how close we are to the lake, although with there were slightly better hiking trails. We love going out hiking and the only trail we could find close to our campground we believe was just a disc golf course. We do love the overall ambiance and use of bathrooms and will continue to come!

We camp here a lot and like the cheap spots close to the water. Great If you like to kayak. Showers for Crappie Cove could be better, and I did see that they are working on them this fall. Expect people, though, not some serene quiet space. Also, the water is muddy and would not suggest if bothered by that.

We've stayed here twice. The location is great for us, only 30 miles from home so it's easy for a quick weekend getaway. But .... at both Scott's Creek and Pintail coves, not only are there lots of trees in the lake cove, they are full of turtles. You see them swimming around. We've had two great camping sites, both with great views and shade, just wish there was a better spot to fish.

I would usually give 5 ☆ but this last visit was not great. We were there a week, and on Friday night, campers started pouring in. When we woke up Sat morning, the campground looked like a tent city, and the driveway was lined with autos. The kids ran wild, and the music was loud. Dogs ran free, and people and kids ran through our campsite and where we were trying to fish. Camp sites had 3 to 5 tents per site with as many autos. No one ever came around to check on the campsites, either. I thought they had rules about how many could cape on one site, how many autos were allowed, dogs on leashes, and rules on loud music. This a favorite of ours to camp at, but if this happens again, we won't be back.

Went tent camping here in the area near the boat dock. They have nice camping areas with a few trees around, but not much shade. The bathrooms are also nearby and seems well maintained. If you're there for a few days and want to take a shower, don't count on having hot water though. It seems popular for families to take their kids too, so if you want a lot of peace and quiet maybe find someplace more deserted. We also tried to do some shore fishing, but the water is very shallow and there are lots of boats/kayaks/swimmers around so there weren't really any fish. The marina has an indoor fishing dock, but other than that you aren't allowed to fish from the dock.
