The park and jogging trail near the Shady Hallow area are beautiful but DO NOT ride a bike over the stream crossing on Sand Run Parkway. There are road signs suggesting it may be slippery but if there is a good amount of water, you will definitely wipe out and the trail doesn’t allow bikes, so you essentially get stuck on the parkway and have to cross the stream twice.

This park has not less than 4 trails, ranging from easy to difficult or 1+ mile to 5+miles. It is well maintained. It does cross over with the buckeye trail as well. We walked the Nuthatch trail, which was rated difficult at 3.3 miles. It was a great trail with enough ups and downs to keep you moving. *Great place to see the fall foliage. You are mainly in the woods and some of the trail narrows with steep slopes, so be careful in icy or wet conditions. Notes: There was one turn that was not marked well once you cross the road, but common sense prevails as you go right at the bench and walk along/above the creek. Also, one can easily miss the left turn as you approach the "private party" venue, so if you find yourself walking in a parking lot, you missed the turn-off. So, go back and look for a trail sign now on your right, (the left, facing the parking lot). However, if you're walking the Buckeye trail, stay to the right of the parking lot and the trail sign will be on your right, almost mid parking lot.

Really enjoyed our walk today. The trails are nice, clean and paths are clear for the most part. There were several fallen branches, but my kids had fun picking them up and I'm sure the runners were appreciative of that. Scenery is always beautiful in the Metro Parks and we were able to capture some of it.

Good trails, with a lot of greenery and also water. A good park to spend time at, hike , play and have fun. Walking in water along with trails is highly enjoyable. Some times even get to see a tortoise, as posted in the pictures :P Always a fun spot and will be glad to visit again.

This place is incredible! My kids and I spent an entire day exploring and didn’t even get to see everything. Their favorite spot was were the water crossed the road and turned into a waterfall. They played in the creek for hours! The park is so clean and offers a lot for hikers, walkers, bikers, etc.
