This review is about Walnut Hill Park and Walnut Hill Disc Golf Course. There is a difference between the two parks even though they sometimes overlap each other. I don't know anything about disc golf but there were a few people out playing when I was there. As for the park itself, it has a shelter house, newer playground equipment, picnic tables and grills, benches throughout the park and a big parking area. There is a lot of work going on as far as removing overgrowth and dead trees. The disc golf course seems like it is done. The shelter house and parking area are at the top of a hill. There is a paved walking trail and it looks fairly new. In another review someone said that this park has great potential. I agree. It looks like it was neglected but is now being rediscovered. It is a large park and even with a disc golf course there is plenty of open green space. By the way, the tennis courts, lower parking area and where a pool used to be are the property of the apartment complex next to the park.

Pretty difficult course if you are not an experienced player. Plenty of 300 foot or longer holes, a few with trees right in front of the tee pad. I enjoyed it, finished my first round at +1 but my friends were struggling and were around +8. The main criticism we had was how high and thick the tall grass was. Two of us lost discs, were close to losing more, and we found two other players discs. Great chance you will lose something, if you can't accurately hit fairway. They are also missing distance markers on the pads, and arrows to the next tees.

Very nice and quiet secluded park. Playground is very nice and clean. The playground equipment looks to be brand new. Me and the family took a nice walk around the path.

I really enjoyed my round at Walnut Hills. Built on a former local golf course, the course is fairly expansive with challenging enough holes without being uber difficult. Definitely one I will be back to.
