Beautiful Park! Lots of trails and public space. Really nice camping available with multiple bathrooms and showers.

This park has it all. There are nice grass trails to hike. There are camping sites. There are picnic areas and shelters and playground equipment. There is even a dog park. There really is a lot to do here. When I was here, one of the hiking trails was really soggy. Still, I enjoyed my hike and plan to come again

Lots of Red Winged Blackbirds, Black Capped Chickadees, deer, cool plants starting to emerge. There were fighter jets making an incredible amount of noise nearby for about 15 minutes, not really the parks fault but definitely not pleasant. Also, the restrooms are closed. Fairly peaceful once you get a bit further away from the highway.

This is an excellent park, there are several miles of trail, a boardwalk, and signage. There are several parking areas and restroom facilities. There is a campground that requires reservations. There are many trail maps around the park. There is a dog park as well. The trails are generally well groomed and pass through grasslands and forested areas.

We stayed 1 night in early May, site 34. Campground is very well maintained. Ours was an electric site and could accommodate our overall length of 61 ft (truck n trailer) without unhitching. Bath house was close by, clean and well done. I always love showers with doors for privacy, not just a curtain. Camp Hosts Jill and Kevin and the Ranger we met were super helpful and friendly. The sites with electric are definitely more level and longer so be mindful of that when booking. Dump station is by main bath house and appeared good. Non campers just passing thru the area can use dump station for $10, pay to camp hosts who also have campfire wood for sale too. Grounds are mixed with wide beautiful lawns and park backs up to a large wildlife refuge marsh area with walking trails. We did not go over to other amenities bc of our only there 1 night but they have a small but decent playground, also a dog park, disc golf, equestrian area and trails. These facilities may be heavily used by locals in season since there is a lot of residential co.plexes in area. We did our grocery shopping at nearby Metro Market which had big enough parking lot for us in our RV before we went into campground. A FEW NOTES! (1) be careful of the TWO severe speed bumps as you enter the one way campground loop. They are killers and really should be removed. (2) only use the entrance to park right on Hwy 51 northbound. The Williamsburg road is too narrow and windy and the turn into park road would be impossible for an RV to make. (3) there is a good sized Camping World store and full service center across RT 51 from the park entrance (no dump station there at this time). We will definitely stay here again whenever passing thru the area. Super easy right off I-90, less than a half mile to park entrance which is well marked.
